Do you want to Contribute?

One of our goals is to provide resources to our families and the community. While the Cisco Center staff has a wide range of resources and experience, we also believe no matter how knowledgeable someone is, there is always something new they can learn from others. This is why we are asking for anyone with experience in the special needs community to help others and share any useful resources or knowledge they may have.

To maintain consistency on our website, we have established the following guidelines for guest contributors. These guidelines are subject to change without notice if needed, and any previously submitted or published articles may be updated to reflect these guidelines.

• Article Length: 1,500-2,500 words
• Topics: Anything to do directly with special needs at any age that is a resource for readers.
• Content
  • Must be original new work by the author. Clearly AI written articles will be rejected.
  • Submissions cannot be posted on other sites for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Provide actionable information to readers. Do not simply regurgitate information or provide definitions.
  • Shares insights, advice, strategies, or personal experiences related to special needs.
  • Submission should not be marketing based and must have an authentic voice. These submissions are not intended to be advertisements.
  • You may reference your own work, but please avoid referencing other unrelated products to the main article topic.
  • Links are allowed, however, each article is limited to a maximum of two (2) links (links pointing at ciscocenter.org do not count)
• Images
  • Images are allowed (and highly encouraged) if you provide proof you have permission to use the image.
  • Images must be in WEBP, PNG or JPG format.
  • Must be a high quality image

To streamline the submission process, please review the formatting guidelines below.

• Font Size: 12pt
• Font Type: Any font can be used, however, our website default font will replace any submitted fonts.
• Headers: Headers will be either H2, H3, or H4 headings
• Submission Format:
  • We greatly appreciate articles being submitted in Microsoft Word (DOCX) format.
  • Submissions in HTML format will often get posted quicker
  • Any images should be included in the document, but should also be shared separately as their respective file type.

If you are interested in contributing to share resources for families and the community, please fill out the form below. If we are interested in your article, we will reach out within 72 hours to request the article you wish to submit.

Any article that gets published on the Cisco Center website will be reviewed by our staff, and modified to fit our article guidelines, if needed, prior to posting. The author of the post will be displayed on the article, and their post will have a small disclaimer at the top of the post alerting readers that the post was written by a guest contributor. Articles are occasionally shared in our newsletter.

Guest articles are not compensated in any way.

The Cisco Center reserves all rights and has the right to modify any post that is submitted before or after publishing for any reason. In most cases the editing will be to modify the article to fit the Cisco Center style, but we also will remove dead links or anything that goes against the Cisco Center mission or article guidelines. If we make a modification to your article, we do not guarantee that the guest contributor will be notified.
