History
The Cisco Center was established in June 2008 as a small summer camp program for pre-school aged children. We soon realized the need for a year round childcare facility for children with special needs. We quickly outgrew our temporary location and bought a house in December 2009. The house was re-zoned as a commercial property and additional services such as Occupational Therapy and Parents’ Night Out were added. A devastating fire occurred in February 2010 and we temporarily re-located to the Vineyard Child Care Center in Millersville. In April 2010 we changed our name to the Cisco Center Foundation, Inc., became a non-profit organization, and established our Board of Directors.
Impact
Our center serves children with a variety of special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and communication delays. Our multidisciplinary approach combines special education with speech and language services, benefiting families across Anne Arundel County communities such as Glen Burnie, Pasadena, and Severna Park. Beyond educational programs, the Foundation offers family support services like advocacy at IEP meetings, parent workshops, and events, providing essential resources for families.
By contributing to the General Fund, donors directly support these impactful programs and services, enabling The Cisco Center Foundation to continue its mission of fostering positive learning experiences for young children with special needs and their families.
Contributions to this fund go towards general operating expenses of the non-profit. This includes but is not limited to items like payroll, events, facilities, repairs and more.
